Books have always played an important role in my life. As a student of History and Literature, I have walked the streets of Budapest countless times with huge piles of books under my arm. When my head was overwhelmed with words and thoughts, creating has always been there for me as a harbor to refresh and relax.
I have learned traditional bookbinding in a self-taught way. I improved all the techniques on my own, experimenting with different tools and materials at home. After months spent in the flow of trying out different sewing and gluing methods during nights of solitude, I mastered the technique of bookbinding and linocut, and Izsóp books came to life.
While designing the cover, I always strive to create a composition that attracts the eye. This can be achieved by many means: an unexpected colour combination, a strong graphic, special materials... This is my game.
